As you may, or may not know, our offices are in the beautiful Grade II listed Blackburne House in Hope Street, Central Liverpool surrounded by Georgian architecture and ……now… Bees…This is just a quick note to let you all know that the building now has their own Blackburne House Bees, around 40,000 of them, on the roof by our offices. The bees will be looked after by a team of five Central Liverpool Womens’ Institute beekeepers who have all been trained in the art. The queen is a British Black Bee, which are hardy and should be able to cope with any harsh weather we may have next winter. Please don’t feel that you have to close your windows, as John McCann from the Liverpool Beekeepers Association assures us that they have no desire to come indoors and only wish to fly over the roof in search of flowering plants. The intention is sell the honey to the local restaurants and cafe’s to use on their toast…..
